This course will cover the drawing and painting of boats, from sketching on location, preparing thumbnail sketches, through to the final painting. I will show a range of types of boat both in ink drawing and watercolour. The boats will be shown in differing locations on land and sea. The course will begin with warm up exercises, how to use pencils correctly, how to show shapes and shadows, how to express yourself more freely without constricting your drawing techniques. These lessons will enable you to draw the shapes of boats more easily. This three stage process will be the basis upon which all the lectures are set out.
