A first edition 1939 copy of the \'Northumberland & Durham\' Shell guide by Thomas Sharp. The book is in very good condition commensurate with its age. It comes with its original off-white dust-jacket printed with a black and white photo on the front and back covers; it shows minimal signs of age and wear. The front covers fly leaves have been clipped front and back.The book is hardbound in off-white cloth boards with black title text printed on the spine. The book is internally bound with a metal ring-binder which shows some signs of rust but is in good intact condition. The text pages are clear and bright with minimal signs of discolouration or foxing and are illustrated with black and white photographs. The book also features pale blue picture plates, additional sheet music of local songs and full colour maps.
