FREE DELIVERY What are clotrimazole pessaries? Clotrimazole pessaries are a treatment for vaginal thrush which may get rid of your symptoms in just a few days. This product can help you to feel more comfortable by working quickly to reduce itching and irritation. The pessary comes with an applicator which makes insertion as easy as inserting a tampon, and just one application at night could be all you need to treat your symptoms. What is thrush? Thrush is a common yeast infection caused by a type of yeast called Candida which thrives when there is a disturbance to your natural pH balance. This type of thrush can affect your vagina, penis or mouth. Although thrush is usually harmless, it can be uncomfortable until the infection has been eradicated. What are the symptoms of thrush? Some of the symptoms of vaginal thrush are: An odourless, white, cottage cheese like discharge. Itching Redness Irritation Stinging, burning or discomfort when you urinate. How do clotrimazole pessaries work? Clotrimazole is an effective anti-fungal agent which works to kill the fungus responsible for causing thrush. When should this product NOT be used? Do not use this product if: The person is under 16 or over 60 unless advised to do so by a doctor. You suffer from irregular vaginal bleeding You have blood stained discharge You are experiencing lower abdominal pain You are experiencing pain when urinating You have foul smelling discharge. Some people may experience some of the following side effects: Mild burning or irrtation Severe itching Swelling Redness Vaginal bleeding Stomach pain. If you experience any of the following please contact a medical professional immediately: An allergic reaction, e.g swelling of the face, mouth, tongue, throat, difficulty breathing, difficulty swallowing. An intolerable burning sensation or irritation. How do I use clotrimazole pessaries? The treatment for vaginal thrush is one vaginal tablet (pessary) to be inserted at night. Do not use this product if you are menstruating, wait until your period has finished. Always wash your hands before and after inserting the vaginal tablet. Remove the applicator from the packaging. Remove the tablet from the aluminium package and place it firmly into the open end of the disposable applicator. To fit the tablet into the applicator, squeeze the applicator lightly on both sides whilst pushing the tablet far enough into the holder (about 1cm) to be held in place during insertion. Warnings This product may cause damage to latex contraceptives and therefore reduce their effectiveness. Use alternative contraception for at least 5 days after using this product. This product is not for oral use. Do not use tampons, douches or other vaginal products while using clotrimazole. Keep out of reach of children.
