
Preventing Medication Errors
Based on a study conducted by the Institute of Medicine, this report considers the problem of medication errors and suggests how the incidence of these mistakes--costly in terms of both dollars and human lives--may be reduced. The study addressed the use of prescription and over-the-counter drugs as well as complementary and alternative medications in care settings ranging from hospitals to long term care centers and the larger community.
