Rider Style: Experienced All-Terrain Freestyle riders The Proto Synthesis is aimed at experienced riders who are looking for a high-performance freestyle board that can transform from park ruler to high-speed charger in the blink of an eye.Shape Overview: Twin Tip Although built around an advanced twin shape, the Proto Synthesis is designed to deliver the perfect balance of freestyle feel with all-terrain versatility. Although it eschews the industry norm blunt tip and tail shape opting for a more traditional round profile, swing weight is reduced to an absolute minimum. This creates a fully balanced ride that increases control and feel in the park, but also a more predictable and stable feel on the piste. However, although the nose and tail cut swing-weight to a minimum, thanks to the extended transition zones the tips still deliver a level of lift and float that you wouldn\'t expect in this kind of board. Now to give the board a more stable and reassuring ride on groomers, it utilises Never Summer\'s advanced Vario Power Grip sidecut. This utilises multiple radiuses creating extra contact points to enhance edge hold. A flat section in the rocker area provides a broad contact point when flexed, however when unbent allows the board to track straight and not catch. Flanking this straight section are two shallow radiuses which provide the second and third contact points. Towards the ends of the sidecut are deep radiuses which render quick turn initiation and the final contact points. Profile: Shock Wave Rocker Camber Shock Wave is an evolution of Never Summers highly acclaimed Rocker Camber profile and is designed to step up both power and response. By changing the height and length of the rocker and camber profiles, Never Summer has managed to step up both performance and control. Ket to the Shock Wave profile are the shortened rocker zones at the tip and tail longer camber zones under the feet. These give the board a more dynamic feel as well as increasing energy into the sidecut for enhanced edge hold and stability.Construction Internally the Proto Synthesis doesn\'t hold back when it comes to construction and heading this up is the NS SuperLight wood core. This lightweight core combines a custom blend of wood species to create one of the lightest and most durable cores on the market. Now to ensure that the Proto Synthesis can take maximum advantage of this high-end core, it utilises a combination of Bi-Lite fibreglass with the responsive Recluse Web carbon layup. This combination creates that classic progressive flex that Never Summer boards are renowned for, but on those days when you want to charge, the carbon is going to deliver all the power and control you could ever need. That smooth, progressive ride is then further enhanced with the combination of RDS 2 Dampeners and Elastomeric Underfoot Stabilizers. These absorb fatigue-inducing vibrations and deliver all-day riding comfort without compromising performance. Base: Sintered This super-fast, durable sintered base has been designed specifically for high-performance boards. Just the right amount of graphite has been added making the DURASURF XT SINTERED 5501 BASE the fastest base in the line.
