Colief Infant Drops 7mls
How to Use Colief Colief® is safe to use with babies from birth. It can be used whether a baby is breast or formula-fed. Always follow the instructions to make sure Colief® Infant Drops have the best chance of helping you and your baby. Feed type Colief needed per feed Correct usage Breast feeding 4 drops Express a few tablespoons of milk into a sterilised container Add 4 drops of Colief Feed to baby on a sterilised, plastic spoon Breastfeed as normal. Infant formula 4 drops Make up feed as normal, according to manufacturer’s instructions Add 4 drops of Colief to warm formula Shake the feed occasionally for half an hour Feed the baby as normal, ensuring the feed is at the correct temperature Discard any unused feed. Ready-to-feed formula 4 drops Warm the feed Add 4 drops of Colief Shake the feed occasionally for half an hour Feed the baby as normal, ensuring the feed is at the correct temperature Discard any unused feed. Making a baby’s formula feed in advance 2 drops Make up the feed according to manufacturer’s instructions Add 2 drops of Colief to warm formula Store in the refrigerator for a minimum of 4 hours and use within 12 hours of make-up Warm to feeding temperature when needed and feed as normal. Discard any unused formula. By four months old, a baby’s digestive system should have developed sufficiently to be able to digest their feeds properly. Parents can start to wean their babies off Colief®, firstly by halving the drops per feed, then using at alternative feeds, then using for just one feed per day before complete removal. If at any stage the signs of discomfort return, revert to previous dosage level. Colief® is an enzyme and is destroyed by heat. It works best in warm milk. Always follow the manufacturer\'s instructions carefully when making-up formula milk. Do not add Colief® to milk that is too hot or too cold. When you commence feeding your baby milk treated with Colief® you may notice a change in the stool pattern. This may resemble the stools of a breastfed baby, i.e. looser and more frequent. In these circumstances you may wish to reduce the drops used per feed. If you have any concerns regarding your baby’s health you should seek professional medical advice.
