The Eagles went into the game as underdogs against Sir Alex Ferguson\'s Manchester United, but battled well in a thrilling 3-3 draw at Wembley, with Mark Hughes and Ian Wright grabbing two goals a piece. The replay was played on 17th May 1990 in front of a packed Wembley crowd - a Lee Martin goal was enough for United to lift the cup in a 1-0 victory.
