Unisex 3G AK57 (RT) Rucksack
The new 3rd generation version of the AK57 is identical to its predecessor in features and function. The two major differences are a new fabric – 40% Kevlar instead of 28% previously – and an all-welded welded construction, making it highly water-resistant. (Of course, water can still get in through the top access if the bag is fully submersed). The only feature alteration is the ice-axe carrying system which has been updated to stay abreast of modern tool development (so many have neither adzes nor hammers). The AK57 is the big brother to the AK47 and features the removable floating lid of the AK47-X. Its name may not be as catchy, but that doesn’t mean it’s short of attitude – it’s just more understated. The larger capacity of the AK57 makes it a suitable pack for lightweight expeditions on high(er) altitude climbs, or for more traditional, less technical alpine routes (code for us more normal climbers, who don’t like to cut our safety margins like the crazy, extreme guys do). Removable floating lid – for more versatile load options Roll-top closing system at top of main compartment External lid pocket with welded seams Side compression straps – quick and easy to fit or remove Oversized back haul loop – easy to grab and clip Top compression strap 40 mm webbing waist-belt with low-profile full-sized hip-fins 4 mm drawcords – for emergency rap anchors Two ice-axe holders Stretch wand pockets Capacity - 3475 + 420 cu. in. / 57 + 5 litres Weight - 1350 g Fabric - 40% Kevlar / 60 % Cordura, 7 oz/yd² / 240 g/m² Frame - 0.275 in / 7.00 mm Ø tubular titanuim full frame (removable)
