Seiko Prospex Street Series \'Tuna\' Solar Black Dial White Silicone Strap Men\'s Watch SNE545P1
Seiko Prospex Street Series \'Tuna\' Solar Black Dial White Silicone Strap Men\'s Watch SNE545P1 The Case: The cylindrical design of the Seiko Prospex Street Series Tuna SNE545P1 case is very much aligned with that of the original Seiko Tuna. The most recognisable design feature can be attributed to the white shroud that protects the case. Inside of the shroud sits a polished silver case and a unidirectional bezel, that helps to ensure diver safety, as well as reminding the wearer of the watches scuba diving roots. The silver and black two tone bezel is something to behold, it perfectly unites the colour scheme of the watch. An eye-catching red lume pip is situated at 12 o’clock, whilst the rest of the the bezel displays minute indices. In the indented outer edge of the bezel, that can be accessed between 12-3 and 6-9, allows the wearer to easily rotate it. A screw on case back is also present, that features a wave design which is a subtle reminder to the wearer of the watches routes. The subtle bursts of red throughout the watch set this apart from its counterparts. The bold and vibrant splashes of red are invigorated by the army white strap and silver case. This is certainly true of the crown, which is found at 4 o’clock. The dash of red that sits between the silver bezel and white shroud is also extremely aesthetically pleasing. Above all, the entire design of the case is an excellent example of Seiko’s ability to reinvent a timeless classic in a unique and modern fashion. The Dial: Given that this is a diving watch it should come as no surprise that the dial is clearly laid out and highly legible. It consists of lume coated indices that are very subtly engorged that adds a nice level of texture to the dial. Similarly, the polished silver batton styled hands add to the legibility of the watch. The vibrant red seconds hand is hair-like thin, but because it is set against the black dial it is certainly noticeable and certainly welcomed. The date window replaces the 4 o’clock marker, which is another typical feature of Tuna models. In addition, the Seiko logo is positioned beneath 12 o’clock. The Strap: The strap is made from reinforced silicon bands that are able to withstand harsh operating environments. Also, the clean white strap has a ribbed design, which sets it apart from the previous renditions of the Tuna in the street series. Seiko’s attention detail is present in the form of the wave design that is embossed on the strap. It fastens using a standard buckle. The Functions: One of the most attractive features of the watch is the fact that it does not require a battery change, due to the fact it is solar powered. It is powered by caliber VI157 movement, that when fully charged has a 10 month power reserve. It is also extremely accurate, boosting +/- 15 seconds a month, it is also water resistant up to 200 metres meaning it can be worn for scuba diving. Key Features: Prospex Family Street Series \'Tuna\' Case Black Dial White Silicone Strap 200m Water Resistant Diver\'s Style Date Window Solar Movement 47mm Case Hardlex Glass +-15 Seconds Per Month LumiBrite The Family: Prospex Seiko Prospex challenges every limit, with a collection of timepieces for sports lovers and adventure seekers whether in the water, in the sky or on land. The sea series covers the water element. From the first diver’s watch released in 1965, Seiko has been exceeding expectations for divers with its innovative technology. A timepiece that guides you through the challenges in the deep blue. Likewise the sky element is covered by the sky series, powerful timepieces that encompass all elements necessary to take control of the sky. Finally, the land series can be summed up as supporting the adventurer every step of the way. The Brand: Seiko Ceaseless determination to innovate in every aspect of the watchmaker’s art defines Seiko\'s 135-year history.  By embracing this ethos, Seiko has been responsible for a string of industry-leading advances in the technology of time. Notably, the creation of the world’s first quartz watch in 1969. Or equally impressive the creation of the world’s first TV watch in 1982. And even more relevant today, with our abhorrent use of non-renewable energy sources, Seiko’s Kinetic. Also, this watch had the ability to generate its own power from the movement of the wearer. The listed technological developments serve as evidence to illustrate the revolutionary impact which Seiko has had on the watchmaking world. They are also remarkably unique in that they manufacture every aspect of every watch in-house. Consequently,  Seiko earns its reputation as one of the most reliable watchmakers, as they even grow their own quartz crystals and sapphires.
