Seiko Presage Automatic White Dial Black Leather Strap Chronograph Men\'s Watch SRQ023J1
Seiko Presage Automatic White Enamel Dial Black Leather Strap Men\'s Watch SRQ023J1 RRP £2,000 History: Seiko Presage watches embody the highest level of Japanese aesthetic and craftsmanship. The movement and design of the watch reflect this. Models such as this Seiko Presage SRQ023J1 are crafted to reflect the philosophy of Riki Watanabe. He is known for being a pioneer of modern Japanese design. His designs have been recognised in both social and educational fields throughout Japan. He received many awards including the Japanese Medal of Honor awarded by the Government of Japan. Style: The white enamel dial was manufactured by firing at high temperature. By the melting process, there may be little dimples, tiny dots and a rough surface on the dial. This is a unique feature of genuine enamel dial. Around the edge of the dial are black Roman numeral indexes which provide it with a classic feel. The ever present Seiko logo can be seen by the 12 o\'clock position. Also, in the center of the dial are three chronographs which are used to measure time seperately. Furthermore, a simplistic date window can be seen inbetween the four and 5 o\'clock index. Surrounding the dial is a silver steel case alongside dual-curved sapphire crystal glass to provide it with protection and class. Finaly, a black leather strap can be fastened using a standard buckle. Functions: Automatic 8R48 caliber automatic movement powers this watch. This caliber engine has a power reserve of 45 hours which allows you to forget about the time for the weekend. Also included on the movement is a manual wind function which by spinning the crown, will begin to charge up to its capacity. 34 jewels make up the engine, which is a far cry from the industry standard of 21 jewels. The number of jewels increase the accuracy. This watch has a water resistance of 100 metres, making it suitable for swimming and snorkelling. It dates back to 1913 with the release of the Laurel. This was Japan\'s first ever wrist watch. This heritage is brought to life through watches whose design echoes that of the 1913 Laurel and whose dials are made in the finest traditions of Japanese artistry. Presage is a collection of broad appeal. It comprises 60 models and uses the full range of Seiko’s mechanical calibers. From the accessible 4R, through 6R to the exclusive 8R. Highlights include the 6R27 multi-hand power reserve model and a series using an entirely new version of the 4R57 caliber. This new caliber is Seiko’s first ever with a center power reserve indicator, and is available in a series of five designs, including a limited edition. Every Presage watch has 10 bar water resistance and a sapphire crystal. The Brand: Seiko Seiko’s story began in 1881 with the opening of a clock shop in Tokyo, it’s owner was Kintaro Hattori. Eleven years after the opening of his shop, Hattori opened a clock factory with ten employees. It was in 1895 that they began to produce pocket watches. Soon followed by alarm clocks in 1899, and then table clocks in 1902. Then in 1913 Hattori began working on his first wristwatch. The in 1924, 43 years after the initial opening, the brand Seiko was born with the creation of the first Seiko wristwatch. Seiko established itself throughout the 20th century as being a driving force in the advancements that took place in the watching world. For example, in 1956, Seiko were the producers of the first winding wristwatch made in Japan. Then in 1964, Seiko became the official timer for the Tokyo Olympics. And then most notably Seiko unveiled the first quartz wristwatch, the Astron, in 1969. Marking the beginning of the quartz revolution. Or equally impressive the creation of the world’s first TV watch in 1982. And even more relevant today, with our abhorrent use of non-renewable energy sources, Seiko’s Kinetic. This watch had the ability to generate its own power from the movement of the wearer. Ceaseless determination to innovate in every aspect of the watchmaker’s art is what defines Seiko’s 135-year history. By embracing this ethos, Seiko has been responsible for a string of industry-leading advances in the technology of time. Notably, the creation of the world’s first quartz watch in 1969. The listed technological developments serve as evidence to illustrate the revolutionary impact which Seiko has had on the watchmaking world.
