Seiko Prospex Special Edition 1968 Recreation \'Dark Green Sunset\' Automatic Green Dial Silver Stainless Steel Mens Watch SPB105J1
Seiko Prospex Special Edition 1968 Recreation \'Dark Green Sunset\' Automatic Green Dial Silver Stainless Steel Men\'s Watch SPB105J1 RRP £980   History: The SPB105J1 is a recreation of the 1968 Seiko MM200 diver\'s watch. At the time, the 1968 model was the highest of world standards hi-beat caliber (10 vibrations per second). Increasing the number of vibrations in the balance, Seiko used the new driving system: Self-winding type with manual winding mechanism. Also, due to the green dial which has been so nicknamed the \'dark green sunset\' has a striking similarity to the well known Rolex submariner, meaning this watch has been fused from two of the greatest diving watches of all time. Style: A green dial which has been so nicknamed the \'dark green sunset\' due to its sunbrushed dial. The hands and indexes have a golden surround as well as the ever present Seiko logo and the Prospex logo. As mentioned, this has a resemblance to the Rolex submariner piece which is perhaps the most well known timepiece globally. Surrounding the dial is a thick silver stainless steel case as well as dual-curved sapphire crystal glass which provides it with both protection and class. Ontop of the case is a unidirectional diving bezel which displays in increments of 10. Finally, a Rolex three link oyster style stainless steel bracelet can be fastened using a deployment clasp. Functions:   This deploys an incredible 6R15 automatic movement. This movement has an incredible 50 hour power reserve which means you are able to take it off your wrist for the weekend whilst you relax. On the dial is a simplistic date window which replaces the 3 o\'clock index again powered by the automatic movement. Both the indexes and hands are coated in LumiBrite which is a luminiscent material, allowing for easy visibility at night or at the depths of the ocean. This watch has a water resistance of 200 metres, making it suitable for diving. Made In Japan: Firstly, for all you Seiko enthusiasts, this premium timepiece has been made and produced in Japan, indicated by the suffix ‘J’. Seiko watches made in Japan are notoriously hard to obtain outside of Japan due to the highest quality of craftsmanship and astonishing features that come in each individual timepiece. We have a range of Japanese watches here at Watchnation but in limited quantities, so if you are looking to add to your collection then this is the perfect place for you. Key Features: 6R15 Caliber Automatic Date Display 50 Hour Duration Stainless Steel Case Dual-Curved Sapphire Deployment Clasp Push Button Release 200m Water Resistant Resistant 13.1mm Case Thickness 44mm Case Size 23 Jewels Unidirectional Bezel LumiBrite Super Hard Coating Screw Down Crown Manual Wind Capacity     The Family: Prospex Seiko Prospex challenges every limit, with a collection of timepieces for sports lovers and adventure seekers whether in the water, in the sky or on land. The water element is covered by the sea series. From the first diver’s watch released in 1965, Seiko has been exceeding expectations for divers with its innovative technology. A timepiece that guides you through the challenges in the deep blue. The sky element is covered by the sky series,  powerful timepieces that encompass all elements necessary to take control of the sky. Finally, the land series can be summed up as supporting the adventurer every step of the way. The Brand: Seiko Seiko’s 135-year history has been marked by a ceaseless determination to innovate in every aspect of the watchmaker’s art.  By embracing this ethos, Seiko has been responsible for a string of industry-leading advances in the technology of time. Notably, the creation of the world’s first quartz watch in 1969. Or equally impressive the creation of the world’s first TV watch in 1982. And even more relevant today, with our abhorrent use of non-renewable energy sources, Seiko’s Kinetic. This watch had the ability to generate its own power from the movement of the wearer, it was released in 1988. The listed technological developments serve as evidence to illustrate the revolutionary impact which Seiko has had on the watchmaking world. They are also remarkably unique in that they manufacture every aspect of every watch in-house. They even grow their own quartz crystals and sapphires, hence why Seiko are renowned for being watchmaking experts.
