To commemorate one of the two colours found in the company’s emblem since it was created in 1913, Montblanc have launched the new Ultra Black Series inclusive of this stunning Montblanc 1858 Geosphere Ultra Black Limited Edition. It’s design remains inspired by the original Minerva watches from the 1920’s with a dial and case back dedicated to the Seven Summits Challenge, the holy grail of climbers. The smooth black dial is adorned with two unique turning globes marked by the world’s seven summits while the case back is engraved with an image of a compass and two crossed ice pick-axes as a nod to mountain exploration. Named the Montblanc Geosphere for a reason, this stunning men’s watch is home to one of the brand’s most coveted manufacture movements developed by the Montblanc watchmakers in Villeret. The automatic winding MB 29.25 calibre provides a world time complication on two northern and southern hemisphere globes, a 24 hour scale, day and night indication, dual time function and a handy date window at 3 o’clock.  This unique combination of complications provides an intuitive way of appreciating the different time zones further aided by SuperLumiNova on the central hands and numerals. The 42mm distressed stainless steel case of the Montblanc 1858 Geosphere watch is completed by a black ceramic bidirectional bezel, domed sapphire crystal glass with double anti-reflective coating and a fluted crown assisting in a 100 metre water resistant rating. To complete its Ultra Black nickname, the 1858 Geosphere watch is fitted with a black calfskin leather strap.
